Thanksgiving Edition

in Portland, family outing, holidays

thxgiving2thxgiving1

I love a good thanksgiving, and I really needed this one. I have been sleeping poorly lately and feeling rather unrested. This week was a sharp reminder to slow down, take a few deep breaths and relax.  We ate  a charcoal grilled turkey, courtesy of my brother, grilled to perfection, homemade rolls with honey butter, sweet potatoes that I will be dreaming about for weeks, and a pecan pie studded with chocolate, that tastes even better for breakfast. I am thankful for my family, for warm meals and restful holidays. For the laughter of my kids and a job to pay all the bills. For the silly Macy’s Day Parade that made my kids happy, and the warm coffee afterward.

To my wonderful family, and coming home with more food than when I left.

Great pictures of my grandkids (you too Kat). There’s that serious look Owen seems to have. Kelsey hit it hard yesterday in the kitchen. I was amazed and proud. Tyler was some super help. It was my first ever, turkey to cook. Found out that was the easiest part. Bon is having fun being a grandmother in Cleveland. I missed all of you. Happy Thanksgiving.

That last comment was from Jim! I had a great turkey day with Jame and Munir, Vera and Lydia. We went to their friends and had deep fried turkey! Yum! Missed you all.

We should have connected up last week - we were at the Macy’s parade too on Friday. Abby loved the dancing gingerbread men. :) Would have loved to see you and the kids while we were visiting our family in Portland. Next time for sure!!
