v is for vibrating

in adalyn, life, owen

I was so thrilled to put Adds in preschool.  I wasn’t even sad, not one bit.  Then the other day, I started thinking about her going to kindergarten and I became so melancholy.  She loves  school so much though, so I would never pull her out.  And FINALLY she is hitting some important milestones.  I know she would have figured it out eventually, but I think 18 might have been too late.  For instance, she can tell us the sound that each letter makes.  She has a leap frog video that nana bought her, she sits there for like 2 hours a day watching and re-watching and playing the alphabet game.  And yes on video, they do “vibrating” for the letter V.

My little munchkin is getting so big.   She’s been really great overall, aside from our attempts to get her to nap –which is virtually nonexistent.  I was secretly hoping that preschool would wear her out more, and it does, yet she refuses to take a nap.   If i try to force her to nap I end up with a tired AND cranky kid.  I’d rather just skip the nap.

I had meant to post these things a long time ago, but I didn’t.  Don’t feel bad if this kind of parental crap bores you.  We (parents) just eat this kind of shit up in life.

When I am going to put her in timeout she says, “Mom, but I’m just a girl.”

“This is a pink mail.  It is girl mail.”

After choking on water in the bathtub, “That was crazy.”

“Mom, tell me not to pee on the couch.”  Ok Addy, don’t pee on the couch.  ”Yeah, she says, just the potty.”

“Mom, tell Owie this is DeDe’s _____  (insert everything)”
