Wow. Today was crazy, but not for me. Here was Andy’s day.
600am ”Andy, do you want to get up now?” Then I proceeded to leave for work.
630am: Up got both kids dressed and fed
730am: Picked up Carla
755am: Dropped off exchange students at the bus stop
800am: drove to his own school for student teaching
815am: Call from the exchange students who say the bus didn’t come because of the damn construction on 5mile (they didn’t say damn, I added that for effect)
820am: Back to 5mile to drive the big *kids* to St. George’s
1200pm: Picked up Addy from preschool. Took her back home and drove himself back to school.
430pm: Home from school. Took Carla home. Went to the store with the little kids.
530pm: Picked up exchange students from school.
600pm: Made dinner.
700-800pm: Put kids to bed.
I rolled in the door about 8pm, only to miss the craziness of the entire day. OH MY GOODNESS. Bonnie and Jim, we sure love you a lot because otherwise we wouldn’t do this! Just kidding, sort of. Don’t worry, Andy is now out at a show, having a beer and a cigarette on me. Love you.
Might I also add that our new babysitter, Carla, is a GEM. She made dinner - which was not asked of her. Drove Addy to preschool on her very first day with us. I knew I picked a winner. Plus she’s from South Africa so has a really wonderful accent. I am going to think of her as my personal assistant because that sounds so glamorous and then I can be like Dooce and John & Kate -fulfilling my lifelong dreams.
