way too long and totally overdue.

in Katherine, hooray!, life

In an effort to not appear manic I will try to keep my thoughts organized. I have finally completed my studying and taken THE MCAT.  Big round of applause, I know.  It was a consuming and tiring process.  I am all nerves at this point.   I have to wait 30 days for my result.  I am praying for some DE-vine intervention to give me a little nudge in the upper direction.  We’ll see about that.  I’m sure God cares about my test about as much as he cares about the outcome of sports games.  Truthfully I don’t know how I feel about it.  I sorta shat up one of the essays, which is giving me a little angst.

Much to my own disappointment I wasn’t able to get *trashed* (I don’t like this word) that night since I had to work the next day.  After the test I had a nice midday buzz going, which was nice.  Being as I had recently started a new job, I had to schedule that said job around my Mcat.  So I worked 5 out of 6 days after the test.  Here I sit.  Tired and a bit foggy.  My job is turning out well, a little heavy on the workplace drama + lots of cursing.  Not that I mind, it’s just a bit different than my last employment.   My manager did ask me if I wanted to work day shift and can I tell you, I AM SO GLAD.

I finally got to do some canning.  I canned a little bit of peaches and I think I had a smile on my face the entire time.  It was a little bit more time consuming than I expected, but totally worth it!  I can’t wait to eat the peaches in the nastiness of January and remember the summer day that they were made.  Don’t worry Jamie I did a voodoo curse on the botulism so we’re good.

Also, Andy scored me these boots at a local thrift store.  I have had a hankering for some cowboy boots for a long time.  The problem with old boots is they are usually tiny.  So happy to have myself a nice shiny pair.  I wore them last night to a work party with some black tights and shirt dress.  Hooray!

I feel as though I gave up my summer for this test, which is totally fine given that is is really important to me.  I guess I am a bit sad to see the summer go, the warmth isn’t bothering me one bit (we have air conditioning).  We have eaten enormous amounts of summer squash and zucchini and I’m still not sick of it.   I have tried it this way a couple times, and I must say it is so damn good.  Please make this.  It takes a little bit of time, but it is SO worth it.  This is also great too.  We still have some more to eat and I can’t decide how to make it.  I think I might want to make this. Phyllo dough = great.  Any ideas?
