Our friends threw us a going away party, complete with queso dip, little smokies, meatballs, schmear and lots of other good bad food (thanks nene!!!). Our themed party of “bad lipstick and ties” was really fun. Amongst the ties there was a bugs bunny, black sheep and horrible flowers. I think Jed wins with the marlin tie or whatever creature that was. I thought I did pretty good on my bad lipstick with the matchie red. As Cale said it, “Kat, I really don’t like your lipstick.” Thanks Cale, I hate it too. Therefore I put some on your future wife’s lips just for good measure. I only have one picture that was taken, I guess I had too many jack and cokes to be thinking clearly about picture taking. It is a fitting picture since it was with Lindsay who wins best dressed with her twenty year old blue sequin dress. Addy stayed up the entire time and was really quite happy. I think she went to bed around 1 or 1:30am. She had so much fun. I had just enough to drink that every time she walked by I thought, “Oh there she is, she’s so cute.” I am glad someone was watching her, and I think that someone was the skittles bowl.
We love our friends and our so so thankful for their support and love. Chaddy gave us a great toast that made me cry (and him too). Only 1 more week in our beloved city. I haven’t even begun to digest the reality of our departure. Sigh.
