Andy finished his classes today. Huge sigh, for 1 week at least. Amongst the classes was a painting class, a prereq for his master’s program. The class held an art show on Wednesday that the kids and I attended. It really wasn’t a true art show, but fun nonetheless. I say it with pride, Andy’s paintings were a hit. I always knew that he could make art, good art, but it was insanely fulfilling to hear his classmates praise.
When I met Andy nearly 10 years ago he was a totally different person. Shy, self conscious and somewhat directionless. There is so much meaning in being able to watch someone evolve. Especially if it is a spouse/partner. All the angst suffered along the way, makes for sweeter successes. I am proud to see him becoming a better version of himself. He is in self discovery, more confident and clear in his direction as an artist and as a person. I know he will probably die that I am writing all this, but it must be said. Congratulations my dear friend.

can these items be purchased? no, really…that good and I come from a family of artists.
Andy, your stuff looks awesome. You should post full pics of them, so I can look at them from way far away.
Andy–your art is great. It’s come a long way from the mugshot collage that was in Ben Robinson’s room in college.
The mugshot collage was cool too, though.
andy, you’re a badass. that’s all.
