back to school

in school

I started my first day of class yesterday at the community college. If you haven’t heard I am hopefully planning on entering a masters in teaching program that will start in June.  But before it starts I need to finish up some prerequisites in order to be fully endorsed to teach visual arts and social studies.  After meeting with the MIT counselor I found out I have a lot more classes to take than I thought.  And in classic Andy style, waited until the first day of class to try and register for 5 classes. Real smart. After a lot of frantic phone calls I got all signed up. I’m taking 3 online classes: pacific northwest history, principles of microeconomics and design 1.  So far I’m pretty skeptical about online learning but guess I really just need the credits. I am also taking (in classroom, thank God) ceramics 1 and painting 1. I’m real excited for these two. I spend a good amount of my free time painting but have never taken a formal class. Painting starts tonight. Hopefully the professor doesn’t tell me I suck and have no potential.  For the sake of my ego I’m going to go ahead and tell the professor I’ve never touched a paintbrush.
