I’ve always been surprised at the real disconnect between contemporary art and the tattoo world. I don’t know if tattoo artists are to blame or the people getting these terrible tattoos. But I would just love to walk into a tattoo shop and have it feel like a real art gallery. Good art on the walls instead of a drawing of a snake crawling out of skull being carried in the claws of a bald eagle. I have spent hours and hours trying to find good tattoo artists here in Seattle and on the internet but I’m not sure if any exist. If you are a good graphic designer or painter, seriously put down the paintbrush and pick up a needle.
This artist seems to be the closest I have come in my search. Anyone have some recommendations??

He loses a little bit of cred with the belly button piercing, no?
Ha! Didn’t even see it. This isn’t the tattoo artist himself just a tattoo he did. Between the piercing and all the nautical stars this guy barely breaks even.
