Looks can be deceiving. We have such a happy baby. He smiles all day long and is almost crawling. Actually technically he can crawl. He gets up on his forearms and knees and rocks back and forth and then launches himself forward. I am amazed at his motor skills but a little bit sad that I don’t have a big lumpy baby that just sits around all day. All this being said, he turns in to a monster at night! Lately he has been crying hourly. Seriously hourly. We have no idea what is wrong. I am lucky too, I make Andy get up with him most of the time, especially if I work the next day. All we do know is that Project Move-Him-Out-of-Our-Room needs to be underway immediately.
On a “sad” note. The Wakefields’ have officially killed our first pet. Our dear betta fish “blue fish” was looking sorta blue. After some reputable google searching, it appears that our dear fish of 38 days contracted a bacterial/fungal infection of some sort. A nosocomial infection, if you will (bad medical joke). We kept asking ourselves why it was spending most of its time burrowing under rocks trying to kill itself. Now we know why its fins were literally wilting. The rest of the time it lay there limp or jamming its head in the corner of the bowl. This very day we performed a mercy flush. Andy wonders if it was cruel of us to subject the fish to slow death in the sewer system. What else were we supposed to do!? He says, “garbage disposal.” Every time I think about that fish I get grossed out.
After enjoying the wonderful sun, the weather in Seattle has taken a turn. We have had multiple heavy rains this week, an unwelcomed reminder to what will come. I fondly remember rainy day schedule while I was growing up in Phoenix, but no longer! For my siblings –rainy day schedule makes me think of this…”it’s time to go potty and get a drink, do it now, do it now.” Or, “scooty ooty ooty down for Judy.” Good old singing Judy. I keep asking myself why I live in Seattle (so do my Phoenix friends/family)! The summer is by far way too short. In the meantime, we keep taking the kids to parks and addy swimming at ChaCha’s pool. We are thoroughly enjoying being with our friends, drinking beer, eating BBQ and sitting on our patio at night.

Summer’s still going strong here. I know you’ve been asking yourself…”why don’t I live in Cleveland?” too.
Funny, as I’m writing this Barak just gave a shout out to Cleveland…let’s forget it was his example of violence and the need for gun control… love you guys and I miss my cutie nephew!
after a couple months living somewhere hot you would be asking yourselves why you DON”T live in seattle. i promise.
Oh how I miss Judy! She is probably dead now…but what a legacy that women leaves:-) Her raspy smokey voice. Rainy day schedule was awesome in Phoenix. MAYBE you should move back, now there’s an idea…I could introduce to JMCP.
