Camping

We finally did it!  In typical form, we headed out at the last minute for a camping trip.  Initially we though we couldn’t go due to our tent’s lack of size, but a trial set up in the living room proved otherwise.  We went about an hour and a half north to Bay View State Park near Anacortes.  It was a low key campsite and not the best weather at first, but in the end it turned out well.

Highlights:

Cheap equipment bought at the last minute

Addy entertaining herself picking blackberries

Campfires with miller high life and smores

Owen sleeping well in the tent

Making andy sleep next to adalyn the “thrasher” in her sleep

Campfire bacon, eggs and potatoes

We had such a great time. Addy absolutely loves being outside and playing. We realize more and more that doing the same thing, i.e. going to coffee or doughnuts, doesn’t make memories.  We will forever remember the times that we do something fun and different.  Owen did wonderful and slept great in the tent. He wore this really fuzzy bear zip up thingy that was irresistible.  He looked so cuddly and plump.  I was sad to take it off, despite the fact that it was covered in dirt.
