Feeding the lamb

in family, lists

So I just returned from a wonderful and tiring vacation to Phoenix to visit my family.  I traveled alone with the kids and did I mention I was having fevers and spent the night prior in the ER…yep, I am really that crazy. Don’t even get me started about the fevers. That is another story and I will say that I now have more compassion for people that get sick and get the run around from doctors.

Highlights:

spending time with my family.  seeing old, dear friends.  swimming in the pool.  watching kendrick and addy steal toys from each other.  watching kendrick and addy push each other.  being with wendy when she found her wedding dress.  spending little money.  my rum and coke each night.

Lowlights:

being away from andy.  sleeping in the same bed as addy.  she actually slapped me in the night.  waking up every 3 hours with owen.  hearing addy whine “mommy” (the y is said very high).  hearing addy whine. did i already say that –well she did it a lot so it deserves two spots.  just ask my family.

Twelve days later and a full round of antibiotics completed, I arrived home with two very tired kids.  Andy graciously brought me a latte and hamburger to the airport.  Then addy spilled my latte.  oh well.  As we were tucking Addy in bed that night she says, “where’s wamb (lamb)?”  We hand her the lamb and she says, “got to feed wamb” and proceeds to pull up her shirt and feed lamb — through her bellybutton of course.  Priceless.

oh my goodness, that is so cute, i have heard of kids nursing their stuff animals before! i think that would be sooo cute to see! :) hey - i have a big time whiner too- it is so tiring to listen to. The other day i told winston to stop whining - and i was exasperated in my tone and he said ‘i just want to talk mommy!!” - hilarious - its so hard to describe to them that the high pitched ‘talking’ is way hard on the ears :) glad you had a good time with your family. you’re a super trooper to do all that by yourself!

Oh kat. You should be proud for taking such a big adventure. I am impressed. We are still recovering from traveling with both of us and ONE kiddo. We REALLY miss you guys. Love you.

If you wrote a book, I would read it. Wish we could have been in AZ with you guys.
