While there is not a ton of stuff to write about I thought I’d do an update. We totally love and adore him! He doesn’t do much, but is starting to smile and coo. He only cries if we put him down to sleep at the wrong moment (just tell us!). Hence, he sometimes naps well and other times doesn’t. The longest he sleeps is 5 hours and that is an improvement. He loves to be swaddled really tight with his arm pinned at his sides and then rocked to sleep. I have tried to “train” him to fall asleep on his own, but I am failing miserably. Instead of having a daily epic battle over sleep I bought a sling. Total lifesaver. I put him in that thing and he sleeps great.
Having a newborn feels like an art. I swear it is like breaking a secret code. Finding the perfect cosmic moment to lay him down when he’s tired but not too tired. He will be audibly snoring and the instant we lay him down he is awake. Geesh, no wonder I am drinking more (don’t worry parents). Joking aside, I do love it. I feel 100x more relaxed with O than with Addy. Breastfeeding in public…sure who cares, right? I constantly give Andy “breastfeeding in public” anxiety (shout out to my brother). Whatever. Get over it. I can’t sit at home all day.
